Once a woman lived with her two daughter,Mehwish and hania. She loved her own daughter Hania but disliked Mehwish because she was her stepdaughter. Mehwish had to do whole the work of house. But Hania did not help Mehwish in household work. One day Hania ordered to Mehwish ," Bring strawberries for me".
Mehwish in a trembling voice ,"snow is falling outside" and thick layer of snow has covered everything. So it is difficult to find strawberries in this weather because strawberries are not available in this month of the year. Stepmother and Hania did not took pity on Mehwish and drove her out of the house.Mehwish started to cry bitterly and reached into the forest. She saw twelve men sitting near bonefire. These twelve men were twelve months.
Great January had a club in her hand. She asked Mehwish ," What are you doing here" Mehwish told him that her sister and stepmother ordered her to fetch strawberries. They will punish her if she would return empty handed.
Great January gave his club to june who swung it over the fire. The flame birned brightly and melted the snow.
New leaves began to sprout out. Soon the trees were full of green leaves and summer arrived.. Mehwish filled her basket with fresh and juicy strawberries.
She thanked the twelve months and returned home happily. Her stepmother and Hania were amazed to see the strawberries.
Next day, Hania ordered her to bring the apples. Mehwish narrated her problem to twelve month. Great January again helped her to collect the apples. She again thanked Twelve month and returned to home with fresh apples.
Hania asked Mehwish ,"where did you find the apples" mehwish told her there are many apples in the forest. Hania rebuffed Mehwish for picking only two apples. Stepmother and Hania liked the apple very much and were eager to eat more apples. Hania put her warm coat and went to collect apples from the forest. He met eith the twelve months and behaved rudely with great January.
Great January angrily swung the club. The grew dark and snow started falling. Hania could not find her way back to home. She was buried under heavy snow. The stepmother also went in search of Hania bit could not return back. Hania and stepmother died due to severe cold. After sometime Mehwish married with a kind man and started to live happily in that house.
